Maruti Suzuki Vitara – Top Launch of 2016 Delhi Auto Expo

At the Upcoming 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, 80 New Car and Bike Launches Expected including many global debut, here are some of the top most anticipated Cars and Bikes expected to make debut at the Auto show:

The global debut of the fully home-grown Vitara Brezza compact SUV is scheduled on 3rd February at the Auto Expo. The third utility offering from Maruti Suzuki could be priced competitively between Rs. 6.89 and 9.98 Lakh to take on established rivals like Ford EcoSport and Hyundai Creta. With dual tone body colours and the frugal SHVS diesel hybrid engine, the Vitara Brezza will be looking to entice thebooming compact SUV market in the country.

Hyundai Sub-4m SUV Concept – Global Debut

Based on the i20’s architecture, Hyundai could address the gap between i20 Active crossover and the Creta by unveiling a conceptual version of its compact SUV at the Expo. The production-ready model is expected within the next twelve months and the South Korean manufacturer could possibly stick with the well-known 1.2-litre kappa petrol and 1.4-litre CRDI diesel from the i20 premium hatchback for the compact SUV.

Chevrolet Sub-4M SUV Concept – Global Debut

The concept SUV could be based on General Motor’s all new GEM-B SUV platform, and we expect it to be near production version of the Chevrolet Adra that has done rounds in many motor shows worldwide. This concept will spark a rival to the Ford EcoSport, the upcoming Maruti Vitara Brezza and the likes.

BMW G310R – India Debut

BMW 310R is the first entry level motorcycle from the company under the 500cc category which is ready to take on its rival from Japanese and European rivals with the help of TVS as it has helped in keeping cost down

Datsun Go Crossover – Global Debut

The GO Cross concept showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show previewed the brand’s intentions to enter into crossover segment. It features a large characteristic hexagonal grille with thick chrome bezel, silver lower body cladding, front and rear bumpers. Sharing the same Nissan V-platform, it could be powered by the Renault 1.5-Litre K9K engine and will be priced competitively taking advantage of heavy localisation of parts.

Tata Zica Sedan – Global Debut

The sub-4m Zica Sedan or Sway sedan will be positioned below the Tata Zest and is expected to be the cheapest offering in its segment during the launch between Rs. 5 and Rs. 7 lakh. It features short overhangs and a stubby rear-end that could accommodate over 400 litres of boot space and seems to be well proportioned going by the spyshots. It will rival against Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Honda Amaze, Ford Figo Aspire, the upcoming VW compact sedan and Hyundai Xcent.

Volkswagen Ameo – Global Debut

The Volkswagen Ameo sub-4m sedan has come about after the success of Swift Dzire in reaping maximum benefits of the entry-level mass segment. More likely to adopt design cues from its bigger brother Vento and similar mechanicals(1.2 petrol and 1.5 diesel)based on the Polo platform, an automatic variant could join the line-up later in the year.

Yamaha MT03 – India Debut

Chevrolet Beat Crossover – Global Debut

The Chevrolet Beat Crossover will be of identical styling to the Beat hatchback currently sold in India but will offer more cabin space and driving capabilities of a Crossover. Built on a new platform, it will have a high ground clearance and some of the niggles encountered in the Beat are expected to be eradicated with this new vehicle which is set to make global premiere at the Expo.

Mahindra Canto – Global Debut

Mahindra could opt for the all-new mHawk80 three-cylinder unit on the facelifted version of Quanto with redesigned headlamp cluster with integrated LED daytime running lights and new grille with chrome touches, brand-new bumpers, body cladding and alloy wheels for the top variants. The cosmetic makeover will be accompanied by updated interior features.

Tata SUB-4M SUV (Nexon) – Global Debut

Codenamed X104 internally, the Tata Nexon or Way or Osprey will be built on the modified XO platform that underpins recently launched Zica hatchback. The five-seater sub-four metre compact SUV could be priced between Rs. 5.3 lakh and Rs. 8.5 lakh at a slightly premium to main rival Ford EcoSport when launched next year. It will be vying for the market place of young buyers with its coupe-ish roofline, modern techs and attractive styling.The all-new 1.5-litre Revotron petrol and 1.05-litre Revotorq diesel engines could make it to the sub-4m vehicle.

Suzuki Gixxer 250 – Global Debut

Gixxer 250 is the next big thing from Suzuki as it is set to take the performance motorcycle segment by storm after the 155cc variant with this new quarter litre bike. Pricing is crucial for the success as the product promises a lot.

Baleno RS – Global Debut

The RS sport version of the recently launched Baleno premium hatchback will be showcased at the Auto Expo with sharp styling and performance bodykit. The Baleno RS concept sits on an all-new lighter and rigid platform whilst being powered by a 1.0-litre Boosterjet direct-injected turbocharged petrol engine. The Boosterjet unit will be employed in the production-version of the Baleno to compete against hot hatch rivals Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and Fiat Abarth Punto.

Datsun Redi-Go – Global Debut

Redi Go is based on the same architecture as the highly successful Renault Kwid. It will get a 800cc three cylinder petrol engine with class-leading fuel efficiency. It will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon in the ultra-competitive entry-level small car segment.

Tata Hexa – India Debut

With the appearance of a MPV in crossover design, the Tata Hexa could come with similar dimensions as that of the concept. It could be the feature-rich Tata ever and will act as a successor to the Aria. Powered comes from a 2.2-litre four-pot VARICOR 400 turbocharged diesel engine that makes 154.2 hp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm between 1,700 and 2,700 rpm. The engine is expected to be mated to a six-speed manual whilst a GM-sourced automatic could be offered as option.

Maruti Wagon-R MPV: India Debut

Showcased last year at the Indonesian Auto Show, the seven-seater MPV version of the Wagon R hatchback will rival against Datsun GO plus in the Indian market. After making Indian debut at the motor show, the MPV is expected to be priced between Rs.4.2 Lakh and 5.8 lakh.

Tata Zica – Public Debut

The Tata Zica budget mid-size hatchback will make its public debut at the Auto Expo and has a brand-new design language. It’s powered by an all-new 1,050cc Revotorq three cylinder diesel engine producing a maximum power output of 70PS at 4,000rpm and peak torque of 140Nm between 1,800 and 3,000rpm. The 1.2-litre Revotron three cylinder motor develops 85PS of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm.

Benelli Tornado 302 – India Debut

The bike is essentially a TNT 300 with fairing under the skin. Benelli has made sure its lighter, quicker and faster than before. On paper, like all Benelli bikes it looks tempting. Lack of ABS is the only problem with this potent bike, if solved there is no stopping this volume generating bike.

Maruti Ignis – India Debut

The Maruti Ignis concept debuted at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. It has been confirmed to enter into production and will add up to the healthy competition in the sub-4m compact SUV category. Derived from the iM-4 concept, it will share the new platform with recently launched Baleno. The Ignis could feature a 1,248cc SHVS diesel engine that produces power output of 90 PS coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox as in the Vitara Brezza.

2016 Toyota Innova – India Debut

The second generation MPV will arrive with a slew of mechanical and design changes whilst being built on a new ladder-frame chassis. It will get a brand new 2.4-litre ‘GD’ series diesel engine paired to five-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearbox. It is expected to be priced from Rs. 12.75 lakh and up to Rs.17 lakh.

Toyota Vios – India Debut

Positioned between the Etios and Corolla Altis, the midsize sedan will rival Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. It will be powered by 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines and likely to be imported from Thailand as CKD units before being assembled at Toyota’s production facility in Bangalore.

Honda BRV – India Debut

Honda will unveil the seven-seater BR-V crossover at the Auto Expo. It will have interiors largely similar to the latest generation Honda City and Honda Jazz. Based on the Brio platform, the BR-V is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Honda Jazz Racing – India Debut

The race-going version of the Jazz premium hatchback will also be displayed at the Honda’s pavilion during the Auto Expo. It could come with aerodynamic-enhancing body kits, boot spoiler, rear diffuser and a highly tuned engine under the hood.

Triumph Street Twin – India Debut

The Street Twin is the next generation Bonneville from the British manufacturer which is already famous for providing entry level thrills with modern chassis and engine and retro looks. Expect a good price tag along with triumph’s wide spread dealership that provides sales and service for this premium motorcycle.

Maruti Ciaz Facelift:

Maruti Suzuki is shifting the Ciaz sedan to Nexa showrooms whilst normal dealers will get the about to be launched Vitara Brezza at the Auto Expo 2016.  The Ciaz facelift will get minor cosmetic updates limited to bumpers, grille and foglight bezel.

2016 Honda Accord – India Debut

The latest generation Honda Accord will mark the re-entry of the premium sedan into Indian market following its discontinuation back in 2013 because of poor response in sales. Ssangyong Tivoli

Expected to be powered by a 1.6-litre four-pod petrol engine that produces 126hp of peak power and 157Nm of torque paired to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic, it’s more likely to rival the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano.

2016 Renault Duster – India Debut

The Duster’s mid-life refresh will come with an automatic gearbox to take on Mahindra XUV500 AT and Hyundai Creta Automatic.The EASY-R AMT will be offered with a reworked styling and improve interiors. The top of the range AMT variant could derive power from the 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 110PS with either two wheel or four wheel drive system option.

Jeep Renegade:

Jeep Renegade is the compact SUV of the Jeep family and has code named 551. It is being manufactured locally in the country which helps in less selling coast and will be exported to other nations as well. The Jeep Renegade will be powered by a 1.4-litre, four cylinders, SOHC petrol engine giving a maximum power output of 160hp and maximum torque of 249Nm.

Hero Karizma Replacement – India Debut

Karizma replacement will most likely as a concept on the Auto expo floor. The production version will come late 2016 or early 2017 and challenge the Japanese 200cc upcoming motorcycles along with Apache 200 and Pulsar 200 series and the Pulsar 220.

VW Tiguan – India Debut

Built on Volkswagen’s modular transverse matrix (MQB) architecture, the crossover currently gets power in international markets from a 1.4-litre TSI developing 125PS and top-end 2.0-litre TDI making out 140PS. Renault Kwid easily became the best launch of 2015 by selling over 6,000 units every month and the waiting period soared to six months with the astonishing response. The French manufacturer will be showcasing a 1.0-litre sporty petrol variant of the Kwid to attract the show-going crowd.

Nissan GTR – India Debut

To maintain the exclusivity, Nissan allotted only five units of GTR at an expected price tag of Rs. 3 crore each for the Indian market. The high performance supercar is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre DOHC V6 engine churnig out 545 hp at 6,400rpm and 632 Nm of peak torque at 3,200-5,800 rpm. It gets a six-speed dual-clutch automated manual gearbox with paddle shifters and a full time all-wheel drive system as standard.

Chevrolet Cruze Facelift – India Debut

The Chevrolet Cruze facelift will have minor exterior modifications like the new dual-separation grille with chrome boundaries, LED Daytime Running Lights, revised integrated spoiler lip alongside updated equipment offerings. No mechanical changes will be made, a new seven-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with Apple iPhone/iPad Siri support and reverse parking camera will be carried over from the Trailblazer SUV.

Jeep Cherokee:

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is expected to be launched in in both diesel as well as petrol engine. It will compete against luxury SUVs from Land Rover, Audi Q5, Mercedes Benz GLE and much more. The potent Hemi engine will deliver 475bhp. The Jeep Cherokee will be powered by a 2.4-litre, four cylinders, 16 valves, SOHC petrol engine producing maximum power output of 184hp and maximum torque of 232Nm.

Mercedes S-Class Cabrio – India Debut

The S-Class Cabrio announced the return of the open-roof luxury car in more than forty years. The soft-top on the Cabriolet can be closed or extended in 20 seconds on-the-move at speeds of up to 60kmph. Power comes from a 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8 engine good enough for 449hp and 516 pound-feet of torque while the AMG variant packs a 5.5-litre unit generating 577 hp and 664 lb-ft. The AMG model can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.9 seconds.

Jaguar XE – India Debut

The Jaguar XE premium luxury sedan will compete against Audi A4, BMW 3-series and Mercedes C-Class. An aggressive starting price of around Rs. 38 lakh is expected and an all-new, 2.0-litre diesel engine from the Ingenium family offers two states of tune: one producing 160bhp and 380Nm of torque and the other 178bhp and 430Nm of torque.

Ford Mustang – India Debut

The sixth generation Ford Mustang will make its Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2016 and will be imported into the country via CBU channel. The powerful naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V8 unit with 542 bhp will be the only offering for India which is electronically limited to 250kph and can do 0-100kph in just four seconds. The engine will be coupled with a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

2016 Hyundai Elantra: India Debut

Unveiled at the recent Dubai International Motor Show, the 2016 Hyundai Elantra will most likely feature three engine options namely a 1.6-litre VGT CRDi diesel, a 1.6-litre GDi petrol and a 2-litre MPi petrol engine alongside minor exterior changes. A six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox are transmission options.

Mercedes GLC

Positioned between the GLA and the GLE, the stylish GLC SUV is visually identical to the luxury car market’s best-selling C-Class sedan. It will rival Audi Q5 and BMW X3 and is expected to be equipped with a 2,100cc four-cylinder unit producing 168bhp in the 220d and 201bhp in the 250d. The engine will be mated to a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission with 4Matic all-wheel drive system.

Chevrolet Camaro – India Debut

The sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro is offered in LT and SS models and built on the GM Alpha platform at its base in Michigan. Weighing at nearly 100 kg than its predecessor, the pony car is propelled by a 2.0-litre turbo-charged inline-four pumping out 275 hp, an all-new 3.6-litre V6 producing 335 hp. The SS model comes with a mighty powerful 6.2-litre V8 with 455 hp and the range-topping ZL1 model will generate 640 hp. The engines are mated to either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic.

Honda CB125F -India Debut

CB125F could make to the country as there is demand for sporty 125cc motorcycles as the Stunner is gone now. CB125F trump card will be its naked styling and value for money than the previous sporty 125cc motorcycle.

Fiat Linea Abarth:

To supplement the overwhelming response for the Punto Abarth, Fiat is all set to introduce the performance variant on its sedan sibling. The Linea Abarth will feature a 1.4-litre T-JET turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 145bhp power at 6,000rpm and 200Nm torque at 1,750rpm mated to a five-speed gearbox.
