2016 Mercedes-Benz A-Class has been launched in the country priced attractively at Rs.24.95 lakhs for petrol & 25.95 lakhs for diesel

This is it. The last from Stuttgart for the year 2015. Mercedes has launched the 15’th product in the year 2015 in the last month of the year. The product is none another than the most popular and volume bringer A-Class hatchback. The car receives several updates inside and outside to make sure things are fresh and kicking as the competition kicks up from the other rivals, especially the Volvo V40.

The A-Class facelift cosmetically remains largely the same except for front bumpers which now get vertical scoop instead of the horizontal scoop seen on pre-facelift model. Diamond grille will now be a standard fare. Headlights and tail-lights are all LED now and the design has been tweaked to make it lot sharper and resembles the new S-Class in some ways for the headlight. New alloy wheels are also the package of the facelift model over the previous model.

Tail lamps are definitely a lot more chunkier on the outside and the lamps on the inside are thick stripes. Side profile and sheet metal remains the same and its only the front and rear bumpers along with lamps witness major changes on the exterior. Interior remains the same you have the safety features you will ever need with 6 airbags and electronics such as ABS, EBD, traction control, Electronic Stability Program, Curve Dynamic Assist, Acceleration Skid Control (ASR) and much more.

Features wise you get automatic headlights, wipers and infotainment system with navigation. Electric seats, Bi-Xenon headlamps with headlamp cleaning system, Power tilt /sliding tinted-Panoramic glass sunroof with one-touch function. App feature list are now standard on the A-Class.

The diesel and petrol engines continue to be the same for India. The 1.6 petrol makes 120 BHP and 200 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 2.1 diesel 200 CDI sport makes 134 BHP and 340 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated at a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The Mercedes diesel engine equipped cars will badged as ‘d’, the new nomenclature for 2016 cars.
